Viking Therapy provides individualized occupational therapy focused on identifying the skills underlying those challenges and helping children make meaningful progress at home, at school, and in the community.
Executive functioning & ADHD
Attention, working memory, planning, organization, inhibition, transitions, and self-monitoring.
Strength, Coordination & Motor Skills
Balance, bilateral coordination, motor planning, strength, playground participation, and movement confidence.
Fine Motor & Visual-Motor Skills
Handwriting, grasp, dexterity, visual perception, hand-eye coordination, and classroom skills.
Daily Living & Independence
Dressing, hygiene, routines, self-care, household responsibilities, and greater independence.
THERAPY WHERE LIFE HAPPENS
Building Skills Where Children Actually Use Them
Viking Therapy provides occupational therapy in the environments where children actually live, learn, and play.
Working within a child's natural environment allows therapy to address real-world challenges as they occur while providing parents, teachers, and caregivers with practical strategies that can be carried over throughout the week.
HOME
Address routines, independence, self-care, regulation, homework, and family priorities within the child's everyday environment.
SCHOOL
Support classroom participation, executive functioning, fine-motor performance, transitions, organization, and school routines.
COMMUNITY
Develop coordination, confidence, motor skills, social participation, and independence in real-life activities.

Richard Burrows, OT
Owner & Pediatric Occupational Therapist
I was born and raised here in Brevard County and have always had a passion for helping others develop their skills and reach their potential. I attended Florida International University, where I also played college football, and earned my master's degree in Occupational Therapy in 2018.
Since graduating, I have specialized in pediatric occupational therapy, working with children and families to address the skills that impact participation and independence at home, at school, and in the community. My approach is individualized and practical—I believe in identifying the skills underlying a child's challenges, breaking difficult tasks into achievable steps, and progressively building confidence and independence.
Outside of therapy, I enjoy staying active through 5Ks, hiking, biking, and spending time outdoors. Most importantly, I enjoy spending time with my wife and kids here in the community I grew up in and now have the opportunity to serve.

Why Viking Therapy?
Building Skills for the Journey Ahead
Viking Therapy was created around the idea that growth happens gradually through meaningful experiences, appropriate challenge, practice, and encouragement. Occupational therapy is not just about completing activities during a session—it is about helping children build skills and confidence they can carry into everyday life.
The Viking theme represents that journey. Children are constantly learning how to navigate new environments, expectations, relationships, and responsibilities. Therapy should help prepare them for those challenges by building the underlying skills they need to participate more independently at home, at school, and in the community.
The two children featured in the Viking Therapy logo were inspired by my own young children. As a father, they are a constant reminder of how important it is to give children a strong foundation, opportunities to grow, and the confidence to keep moving forward.
